What Is AI Agent Security?
A practical introduction to the security boundaries, permissions, tools and data flows of autonomous AI agents.
AI agent security in practical terms
AI agent security is the discipline of controlling what an autonomous or semi-autonomous system can access, decide and do. The important boundaries include identity, permissions, tools, external content, network destinations, stored memory, credentials and human approval.
Why agents change the security model
A conventional chatbot mostly returns text. An agent may browse authenticated websites, send messages, edit records, execute commands or call APIs. Security therefore depends on both model behavior and deterministic controls outside the model.
